![]() ![]() Opera GX scored 523 out of 555 on HTML5test compatibility testing. Like the regular Opera browser, it scored 193 points on WebXPRT 3 speed testing. Once I got used to its Mountain Dew-like exterior, I had no issues using Opera GX as just a normal, modern web browser. You can turn the music off, or adjust the volume, if you want to work in quiet. It’s nifty, and without vocals, the music doesn't get in the way of your thoughts. As I worked on this review-quickly typing out notes and taking screenshots-the background music picked up the pace and grew more intense. As you browse, an ambient electronic score plays that dynamically changes based on what you’re doing, something video game soundtracks have done for a long time. Opera GX is also an audio experience, not just a visual one. ![]() Dark pages blend in much better with the rest of the browser’s color scheme, so I recommend making that switch. Opera GX gives you the option to automatically flip any compatible websites you visit to Dark mode by default. So, I found myself distracted by the constant technicolor icons surrounding the content. I like my web browsers to be invisible and let the web page itself take center stage. Opera GX’s visuals aren’t quite as ridiculous as some other gamer-centric software. You can swap between different color themes, such as Ultraviolet and Purple Haze, for a different look. Opera GX’s interface pulses with colorful outlines on dark backgrounds, like a future imagined in the 1980s. The first thing you’ll likely notice about Opera GX is the aesthetic, a look that says, “Yes, this is a browser for gamers.” From chairs to mice to PC cases, companies love to mark their products as gamer-friendly by slathering them in harsh, glowing neon colors. Launching the browser takes no time at all after downloading the 3.5MB installer. Like the normal Opera browser, Opera GX has an Android and iOS app. ![]() Opera GX runs on both Windows 10 and macOS. Best Hosted Endpoint Protection and Security Software.Until then, however, I'll keep using the early access version and deal with the bugs as they come. I cannot wait for the first stable release of Opera One. Not only does it include the exciting features already found in Opera's flagship browser, it adds the multithreaded compositor for outstanding animation effects, and some new tab features that make it easy to keep a plethora of tabs organized in ways no other browser can touch. I don't write about AI because I don't want to give it any more agency than it already has. I've given this considerable thought and have concluded that while AI platforms such as ChatGPT and OpenAI could have meaningful applications, they are primed to wreak havoc on society and take jobs away from good people.Īlso: What is AI? Everything to know about artificial intelligence Yes, I think this is the coolest browser on the market right now, but that comes with a major caveat. First off, I have to make one disclaimer that has me slightly reticent about keeping Opera One as my default. ![]()
